Galaxy S26 Release Pushed? Samsung Flagship Faces Possible Postponement

Samsung's new Galaxy S26 series, which is predicted to follow the January launch pattern of previous Galaxy S models, may have a postponement in its release, according to a report from the credible tipster Ice Universe. The leaker who posted on Weibo suggested a delay but did not specify a new release date or give the reasons for the postponement.
If the delay is not significant, then a February release is most likely, as the launch months for Galaxy S22 and S23 are the same. On the other hand, there are reports that indicate a longer wait. For example, Greek tech site TechManiacs has asserted that the Galaxy S26 series may not come out until March, though they admit the source may not always be the most reliable in terms of predictions.
The potential delay may just give a chance for other smartphone brands to take advantage of the situation. It is expected that the OnePlus 15 will be released globally before the end of this year while OPPO and Vivo are also targeting the last quarter for their flagship releases in markets outside China.
Apart from the launch rumors, there are some recent leaks suggesting that the Galaxy S26 will have a different configuration compared to the previous model. Reports indicate that the name Galaxy S26 Pro may be dropped, giving the base model no significant upgrades. Certification listings also point to the fact that the Galaxy S26 Edge may be replaced by a model simply called S26 Plus.
